The bands of my youth are still filling showrooms...
It’s remarkable to me that so many of the bands I saw live back when they were up-and-comers are STILL heading shows everywhere.
Well, maybe the son of the original bass player and a trio of recruited musicians are now the ones using the moniker of some of those bands - but nonetheless they are still selling tickets 50+ years on!
I did once see Frankie Valli & The Four Not-So-Seasoned Seasons live, and while the younger members of the legendary band were fine, I had to admit Valli’s vocals were MORE than worth the sacrifice of seeing the other original members.
Back in my Kelowna weekly newspaper column I wrote about seeing so many of those iconic names now on marquees in casinos and far smaller venues than the arenas I once saw the actual members perform.
