All The Worlds Of Stages
Ken Pomeroy
I’ve written before about my love for PBS music features, of which there are far too many to list.
One of my latest favourites, that I know I’ve mentioned here in this space before, is Recorded Live At Analog - always jam-packed with surprises alongside great performances. And even after 6 decades of music enjoyment, there can still be new discoveries that blow me away.
That happened a few days ago when my wife and I tuned into recording on our PVR from the show - Back Home Again, A Tribute To John Denver. An artist I was never fortunate enough to see live, but a lifelong fan - the title had me anxious to see the episode.
A breakout performance in a galaxy of talented artists alternating Denver classics had to be Ken Pomeroy. Wow.
Wowee.
I must have missed the intro to her segment though, because afterwards I jotted down Pomeroy’s name along with the other artist, Dakota McDaniel. Searching the internets high and low I couldn’t find anything much recorded by McDaniel. Then a Paste magazine email came in recently, and there was a feature on her new album, which tweaked a memory after doing all that searching.
Ken Pomeroy was the FEMALE artist - doh! No surprise, the Paste article raved about her album (now downloaded), and every word written was right on the money.
Find out for yourself, wherever you buy or listen to music. You’ll likely come away as mesmerized was I was.
Now excuse me, I’ve got to go give that Ken Pomeroy album another listen…
